International Day of People with Disabilities (IDPWD)

Did you know that out of 10% of the world’s population, or roughly 650 million people, live with a disability? In conjunction with International Day of People with Disabilities (IDPWD), we are raising awareness on the encounters, challenges and opportunities presented to people who live with disabilities.

With this in mind, TOTO has come up TOTO’s Universal Design (UD).

TOTO’s Universal Design (UD) refers to the design of products that are safe and easy to use for everyone, regardless of their age, gender, nationality, language, knowledge, experience or physical condition. These products are designed to help each individual enhance their bathroom experience in terms of comfort and hygiene. 

i) Touchless Faucets

With TOTO Touchless Faucets, you don’t have to worry about your hands getting dirty. These smart-sensor faucets harness the energy of running water to power themselves. People will be able to minimize physical contact and maintain cleanliness. Not only does this help in saving energy and water, but it also contributes to the environment.

ii) Touchless Soap Dispensers

Nowadays, people are required to press on dispensers to have access to soaps before washing their hands. This method is somewhat unhygienic and inconvenient at times. TOTO soap dispensers provide touchless feature with foaming soap for a clean handwashing experience.

iii) Accessible Toilets

Some might find it rather difficult to access public toilets as it requires them to squat down, causing discomfort on their legs and muscles. TOTO has come up with accessible toilets which eases the whole process, especially for people with disabilities. Not only does this make it suitable for them to use these toilets, but also helps to maintain sanitation as well.

iv) Handrail Accessories

For those who have trouble walking or require wheelchairs, they can benefit from TOTO handrail as these structures can provide support to them while using the bathroom. TOTO handrails are designed for the elderly or those with disabilities to ensure safety and convenience while improving their bathroom experience.

v) Washlet for Elderly

TOTO Washlet is a bidet equipped with comfortable rear, front, and oscillating cleansing functions suitable for all, including the elderly or those with disabilities. Some may struggle to clean themselves up after using the toilet. With TOTO Washlet, no longer will they need to deal with such inconvenience while being able to maintain hygiene at the same time.
