How to Clean TOTO WASHLET

TOTO’s Washlets are equipped with functions to give you a peace of mind and elevate your hygiene. That said, it does require cleaning and maintenance from time to time. Good news is, you can do it yourself!

POWER PLUG

How often: Monthly

Tools: Dry Cloth

1. Unplug from power source
2. Clean off any dust or debris on the plug and blades with a dry cloth.

Please do not use a wet cloth to clean the plug

WASHLET SEAT ATTACHMENT

How often: Regularly or Immediately after noticeable spots or stains

Tools: Soft Damp Cloth / PH neutral cleanser

1. Unplug from power source
2. Wipe the surface, inside, outside and back areas of the Washlet with a soft damp cloth

You may choose to use a PH neutral cleanser, however, do ensure there is no bleach in the solution as this may discolour the unit.

DEODORIZING FILTER

How often: Monthly or when there is a noticeable bad odour

Tools: Toothbrush / Water

1. Unplug from power source
2. Carefully pull out the filter knob outward and brush with toothbrush. You may choose to use water to clean the filter, however, please ensure the filter is completely dry before reinstalling the filter.
3. After cleaning, reinsert it into the slot until a click is heard
4. Connect the plug back to its power source. The LED light should light up again

BETWEEN TOILET AND WASHLET

How often: Monthly

Tools: Soft Damp Cloth / PH neutral cleanser

1. Unplug from power source
2. Press the removal button on the right side of the Washlet and gently pull towards your body. It is important you do this gently as the water hose is still connected.
3. Clean the surface of both the bowl with a soft damp cloth.
4. Reinstall the main unit by centering it on the toilet and inserting it until an audible click is heard.
5. Connect the plug back to its power source. The LED light should light up again

You may choose to use a PH neutral cleanser, however, do ensure there is no bleach in the solution as this may discolour the unit.

BETWEEN LID AND SEAT

How often: Monthly

Tools: Soft Damp Cloth / PH neutral cleanser

1. Unplug from power source
2. Pull outward on one side of the lid to unseat the pin from the hinge, and pull the lid up. Repeat on the other side.
3. Wipe with damp cloth
4. Reinsert one pin into the recess hinge on the side and repeat on the other side
5. Open and Close the lid to make sure its correctly reinstalled.

 You may choose to use a PH neutral cleanser, however, do ensure there is no bleach in the solution as this may discolour the unit.

THE WAND

How often: Monthly or when there is noticeable debris

Tools: Washlet Remote & Soft Damp Cloth

1. On the Washlet remote, under MENU, select CLEANING, then select WAND CLEANING. The wand will then extend into the bowl while shooting water
2. While the extended wand is shooting water, clean the wand with a soft cloth.
3. After cleaning, on the Washlet remote, select STOP. The wand will automatically retract after 5 minutes.

WATER FILTER DRAIN VALVE

How often: Every 6 months or when there is a decrease in water pressure

Tools: Toothbrush & Flathead Screwdriver

1. Turn off water supply valve. For Normal Stop Valve, turn the valve clockwise. For Pull-stop Vavle, pull out the circular handle
2. Activate the WAND CLEANING function on the Washlet remote. (Under Menu, Select CLEANING, then select WAND CLEANING)
3. Hit STOP on the Washlet remote then unplug the unit from power source
4. Using the flathead screwdriver, remove the filter drain cover on the left rear side and then turn counter clockwise on the filter drain valve to loosen and pull it out.
5. Clean the filter drain with a toothbrush.
6. Reinstall the drain valve and the cover and reconnect the plug to the power source. When the LED lights up, turn the water supply back on.

TOTO’s Washlet does not having a self-cleaning function however, it is vital that you clean your Washlet regularly as irregular cleaning may lead to lower performance and reduced water pressure.  Cleaning TOTO Washlets are easy, it just requires a little bit of effort.
