Earth Day 2024

Celebrated annually on April 22nd, Earth Day, is dedicated to people around the world in raising awareness about environmental issues and promoting sustainable practices. Started off back in 1970, Earth Day has grown into a global movement with millions of people participating in events and activities aimed at protecting our planet.

The importance of celebrating Earth Day lies in its ability to remind us of the importance of environmental conservation and the need to take action to protect our planet. It serves as a powerful reminder that we all have a role to play in preserving the Earth for future generations. And the theme for this year is “Planet vs. Plastics.”

The Planet vs. Plastics campaign is a call to arms, a demand that we act now to end the scourge of plastics and safeguard the health of every living being upon our planet. Furthermore, this campaign aims to unite students, individuals, businesses, governments, unions, and NGOs in an unwavering commitment to call for the end of plastics for the sake of human and planetary health, with the ultimate goal of building a plastic-free future for generations to come. 

As we celebrate Earth Day this year, let’s take a moment to reflect on the beauty and diversity of our planet and the importance of protecting it for future generations. Now, more than ever, we must step up our efforts to reduce plastic usage for our future and also for the environment.
